Zachariah Ricketts was born in the mid 18th century. In 1769 Zachariah Ricketts had 100 acres called Little Hell in Dublin Township, Cumberland County. In 1782 he performed a tour of duty in Kishacoquillis Valley with the the Cumberland County Militia in Captain Robert Samuel’s Company of the Eighth Battalion, commanded by Colonel Alexander Brown. He served with Robert Ricketts. He was in Nelson County, Kentucky by 1788 when he (Zacheriah Ricket) appeared on the tax list. In 1791 he was still in Nelson County, as well as his son, Zachariah, Jr. In 1800, Zachariah Rickets was taxed in Mason County, Kentucky.
